{"id":69,"date":"2017-12-01T01:17:08","date_gmt":"2017-12-01T00:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hepmp.med.bg.ac.rs\/?page_id=69"},"modified":"2018-05-15T00:37:18","modified_gmt":"2018-05-14T22:37:18","slug":"hepmp-project","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hepmp.med.bg.ac.rs\/?page_id=69","title":{"rendered":"Brief Project Desctiption"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Why HEPMP project?<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Pain is probably one of the oldest and most universal forms of stress and one of the<br \/>\nearliest sufferings of humankind.<\/li>\n<li>Pain is the follower of many diseases and conditions: Rheumatoid arthritis, postherpetic<br \/>\nneuralgia, degenerative spine conditions, osteoarthritis, AIDS, migraine,diabetic neuropathy, and phantom pain are examples of chronic pain as well as cancer.<\/li>\n<li>In the economic sphere, it is estimated that the cost to treat patients with chronic<br \/>\npains exceeds the total cost to treat patients with heart disease, cancer, and AIDS.<\/li>\n<li>Prolonged pain is among the major causes of absence from work, sick leaves, disability<br \/>\nretirement, severance pay, and low productivity. It is a problem of public health for its prevalence, high cost, and negative impact on the quality of life of patients and their families.<\/li>\n<li>Despite the efforts and the fact that it is as old as humanity itself, pain neither has<br \/>\nbeen completely understood nor can be totally controlled.<\/li>\n<li>Low awareness of the importance of treating pain lies amongst the public and health<br \/>\ncare professionals.<\/li>\n<li>Number of doctors trained for pain medicine is insufficient.<\/li>\n<li>We need to improve knowledge about pain and raise awareness, both professionals<br \/>\n\u2013 healthcare workers, and society, about the significance of this problem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>HEPMP aims<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Strengthening Capacities for Higher Education of Pain Medicine in Western Balkan<br \/>\nCountries<\/li>\n<li>Development of Pain medicine service provision in the country by providing qualified trained staff.<\/li>\n<li>Support will be granted to operationalize the recently established educational pro-<br \/>\ngram in the form of pain medicine specialization and the possibility of the develop-<br \/>\nment of undergraduate education programs.<\/li>\n<li>Establish an academic network and improve professional cooperation through opportunities provided by new technologies (Internet, telemedicine, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Tasks of the project<\/h1>\n<h4>Tasks of the Universities of European Union countries<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in the analysis of the current situation in this area in Western Balkan Countries.<\/li>\n<li>Defining the possible changes that would improve or introducing curriculum of pain<br \/>\nmedicine in the undergraduate and postgraduate education.<\/li>\n<li>Training of trainers from Western Balkan Countries in the European Union countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>\nTasks of Universities of Partner countries<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To modernize the existing curriculum of pain medicine specialization. Coordinate<br \/>\nthe existing postgraduate education curriculum in the field of pain medicine with<br \/>\nEuropean Pain Federation (EFIC) curriculum.<\/li>\n<li>To develop a module lectures for undergraduate studies of pain medicine.<\/li>\n<li>To develop a web platform for mutual learning and communication for health care<br \/>\nprofessionals who deal with pain medicine.<\/li>\n<li>To organize courses of pain medicine for doctors in primary health care.<\/li>\n<li>Develop written material for Life Long Learning -LLL (books, brochures, scripts, leaf-<br \/>\nlets, digital material etc).<\/li>\n<li>Establish an academic network of health care professionals and universities in the<br \/>\nfield of pain medicine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why HEPMP project?
