Welcome note

Medicinski fakultet Univerziteta u Beogradu je prepoznao potrebu za osnivanjem Centra za medicinsku simulaciju (Simulacioni centar), koji će organizovano izvoditi nastavu u sklopu integrisanih studija medicine.

Savet Medicinskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu je na sednici održanoj 30 maja 2019. godine doneo odluku broj: 8/III-3, o izmenama i dopunama Statuta Medicinskog fakulteta u Beogradu br. 25-X-2 od 19.03.2018. godine, kojom se osniva Simulacioni centar Medicinskog fakulteta u Beogradu.

U prvoj godini rada, za školsku 2019-20 godinu, nastava u Simulacionom centru će se odvijati u sklopu predmeta Hirurgija sa Anesteziologijom, tokom V godine integrisanih studija medicine. Internom akreditacijom predmeta Hirurgija sa Anesteziologijom predvidjeno je da se 30 časova nastave odvija u Simuacionom centru.

Nastava je organizovana po tipu internata, tako da se grupe studenata smenjuju svake sedmice tokom cele školske godine. Studenti koji su raspoređeni u Simulacioni centar određene sedmice, kao i u ginekološkom internatu, ne pohađaju druge vidove nastave tokom boravka u SCMF, a za potvrdu im služi Karton nastave u SCMF.

Koordinator nastave u Simulacionom centru, Prof. dr Predrag Stevanović, pravi raspored odgovornog nastavnika i saradnika koji obavljaju nastavu u SCMF. Odgovorni nastavnik i asistent daju potpis za obavljene vežbi svakodnevno, kao i konačni potpis, za koji je potrebno da student ima potvrdu o položenom pripremnom testu za SCMF, koji se polaže ”online”, na sajtu fakulteta u delu o Simulacionom centru. Studenti su obavezni da test polože pre dolaska na vežbe u SC, dakle položen test je uslov za obavljanje vežbi u SC.

Osnovna namena SCMF u Beogradu je edukacija studenata medicine u sticanju znanja i veština koje kasnije mogu primeniti kao lekari opšte prakse. Pokazano je da simulacijsko učenje skraćuje krivulju učenja, obezbeđuje razvoj manuelnih veština pre kontakta sa pacijentom, poboljšava rad u stresnim situacijama, poboljšava timski rad i optimizuje komunikaciju.

Bezbednost pacijenta je glavni cilj tokom obuke i savladavanja odredjene veštine. Simulacijsko učenje je uvedeno pre svega u oblastima gde postoji visoka verovatnoća neželjenih i katasrofalnih dogadjaja. Najčešći razlozi za nastanak neželjenih situacija u kliničkoj praksi mladih lekara su:

  • Disproporcija teorijskih i praktičnih znanja,
  • Nedovoljna praktična znanja i veštine vezane za rešavanje hitnih kliničkih stanja,
  • Konfuzije u rešavanju više kliničkih situacija koje se dešavaju istovremeno,
  • Upravljanje kritičnim situacijama, itd.

Korišćenje simulacija u medicinskoj edukaciji tokom osnovnih studija može značajno pomoći u rešavanju ovih problema.

Formiranje tima, razvoj kompetencija i neophodnih karakteristika kao što su: hijerarhija, liderstvo, koordinacija, donošenje odluke, komunikacija, strategija, podela informacija i ovladavanje stresnom situacijom se mogu učiti u simulacionom centru. Učenje i vežbanje bez nanošenja potencijalne opasnosti pacijentu povećavaju bezbednost pacijenata. Uvežbavanje pojedinih procedura takodje nije humano i etički oprvdano ili prihvatljivo za pacijenta. Procedure izvedene upotrebom simulatora mogu biti interepretirane, poboljšane i ponovljene, i za razliku od realnog života, nema rizika i opasnosti za pacijenta ukoliko nastane greška.

Uvereni smo da će boravak u SCMF pomoći da se student lakše uklope u posao koji ih čeka po završetku studija.

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Belgrade has recognized the need to establish a Medical Simulation Center (Simulation Center), which will organize classes as part of integrated medicine studies.

The Council of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, at its session held on May 30, 2019, adopted the decision number: 8 / III-3, amending the Statute of the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade no. 25-X-2 of 03/19/2018 which established the Simulation Center of the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.

In the first year of work, for the 2019-20 school year, classes at the Simulation Center will be conducted as part of the Surgery with Anesthesiology course, during the 5th year of integrated medicine studies. Internal accreditation of the Surgery with Anesthesiology course provides that 30 hours of instruction will take place at the Simulation Center.

lasses are organized in a boarding principle so that groups of students alternate every week throughout the school year. Students assigned to the Simulation Center on a particular week, as well as at a gynaecological boarding school, do not attend other classes during their stay at SCMF, and use the Card of Teaching at SCMF as a certification.

Teaching coordinator at the Simulation Center, prof Predrag Stevanovic, PhD, creates a schedule of teachers and teaching assistants at SCMF in charge. A teacher and an assistant in charge provide a signature for the classes performed on a daily basis, as well as the final signature, which requires the student to have a certificate of passing the preparatory test for SCMF, which is taken online, on the faculty’s website in the section on the Simulation Center. Students are required to take the test before attending the SC exercises, so passing the test is a prerequisite for performing the exercises at the SC.

The main purpose of SCMF in Belgrade is to educate medical students in acquiring knowledge and skills that they can later apply as general practitioners. Simulation learning has been shown to shorten the learning curve, ensure the development of manual skills before patient contact, improve work in stressful situations, improve teamwork, and optimize communication.

Patient safety is a major goal during training and mastering a particular skill. Simulation learning is introduced primarily in areas where there is a high likelihood of adverse and catastrophic events. The most common reasons for adverse events in the clinical practice of young physicians are:

  • The disproportion of theoretical and practical knowledge,
  • Insufficient practical knowledge and skills related to emergency management,
  • Confusions in dealing with multiple clinical situations that occur simultaneously,
  • Critical situations management, etc.

The use of simulations in medical education during basic studies can greatly help to solve these problems.

Team formation, development of competencies and necessary characteristics such as hierarchy, leadership, coordination, decision making, communication, strategy, information sharing and managing a stressful situation can all be learned in the simulation centre. Learning and exercising without causing a potential danger to the patient increases patient safety. Practising certain procedures is also not humane and ethically sound or acceptable to the patient. Procedures performed using a simulator can be interpreted, improved and repeated, and unlike in real life, there is no risk or danger to the patient should an error occur.

We are convinced that staying at SCMF will help them become more comfortable with the job that awaits them upon graduation.
